Freedom in Kosovo

Freedom of speech is paper thin in Kosovo, as this recent attack in March shows:
On 27 March 2013, Kosovan human rights defender Ms Nazlie Bala was attacked upon entering her apartment building and severely beaten.
She has also received death threat. Motive: unknown and perpetrators: unknown. Your usual fare then of indifference and subterfuge and denial of human rights. It becomes more understandable if you know more about the previous career paths of a number of the Pristina government leaders: 1. Mafia thug 2. Ruthless (terrorist) rebel leader in KLA. 3. General (absolved by the international community of war crimes)
