Statue et une pierre

Gad *#*#*#*.

Sense of unease

Is around us. Can you feel it?

Three dynamics interacted in a noxious fashion: the growth of a macho, misogynist culture among young men that often found expression in extremely violent crime; a pervasive atmosphere of anti-social behaviour in the streets; and the simultaneous growth of Islamist extremism and jihadi culture.

But there is a deeper reason as well. As the great scholar of Islam, Bernard Lewis, has written: "The community of Islam was church and state in one, with the two indistinguishably interwoven."

This is my story, our story and the story of a failed policy.

I'm doing a straw poll, informal comments on this.  Have you experienced something similar in your community? Since when did you notice a change? In the types of shops?  Has there been an increase in the numbers of a particular group?   Are there mosques in the area?  Has there been an increase in these?  Where have the imams been trained?  Have they drawn unwelcomed negative media articles?

If yes..  This adds up to:  radical / extreme interpretation of Islam.

Meeting troublemakers head on

"Watching Muslims disagreeing with Muslims was illuminating, and hearing a fellow Muslim telling Anjem to get a job and a pair of trousers, not necessarily in that order was priceless. "

The forgotten slaves les esclaves oublies

At a time when US slavery is widely publicized in the mainstream media, thanks to Hollywood, let's us not forget that this wasn't the only type of African slavery taking place then.

The wall in the Holy Land

I want to  share this with you as this is is a really thought provoking letter from a victim of Palestinian terror attack on both a Jewish and a Christian woman. They were ambushed and attacked like animals.

Bear in mind, that as I write this blog, Israel has released another batch of Arab murderers, all in the name of a supposed "peace plan".  Of course, the murderers are free and were celebrated as heroes by nearly all of the Palestinian political, religious elite.  There is no remorse or genuine intention for meaningful peace on their part.

When will the West snap out of this ludicrous "game" before it becomes a kind of Islamic version of the Hunger Games? I have an atlas dated in the mid 60's, interestingly enough, there is no Palestine, only Israel, Jordan and Egypt, marked in red as being occupied by Israel.  In 1967, Jordanians, Egyptians living in gaza and the West Bank became overnight Palestinians.  Both Gaza and the West Bank were seen in exactly the same way as the Golan Heights.  So what the difference in the mindset? Political  antics and devilry, largely by pan Arabism, Islamists and the URSS, as part of the greater scheme of the Cold War. Similarily, a very moving letter from a victim of Palestinians:

Covers the unholy alliance between some unsavory groups, all promoting ethnic and religious hatred.

Sharia or human rights

But you can't have them both;

It is saddening that the HRWF Report states that hundreds of prisoners are in the 24 countries discussed, including the eight states who have been accepted as members of the U.N. Human Rights Council despite their dismal record on human rights and their refusal to allow or their rigid control over religious freedom.  The report identifies 10 of the 24 countries as the worst in grossly violating individual freedom to change religion or belief.  Apostasy is a capital offense punishable by death in eight of them: Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

The hypocrisy of various NGOs, left wing thinker, activitists is increidible.   The amount of sound bites, papers, reports drafted on humiliating countries such Israel, for their perceived lack of human rights, could be probably be stacked higher than Mt Everest.   The calls for remedying human right injustices fall deaf ears, when it comes to scrutinizing Islamic countries.  Why is this so? Why is the human rights of those in such countries is significantly less worthy?   Short answer lies in the practice of Islamic law, Sharia.

Yet all of those in power across the EU, gladly tolerate this double standard, as it is safer and trendier to slander the likes of Israel than Iran.  The biggest hypocrite has to be the UN Secretary General, for allowing 8 states to sit on the Human Rights Council.  The world's mainstream media are also the jokers in the pack.

Omission

This extract from

does not reflect the complex heart of the conflict.

Yes, I know that the reverse has been true. For example, Christian Serbia entered and massacred Bosnian Muslims. The western response was instructive. The west sent troops to protect the Muslims. Serbia gave up its leader to be tried for the crime by an international panel. Will Indonesia do the same with respect to Timor? Or Sudan with respect to southern Sudan?
1.  The Serbs in Bosnia were and still are part of the indigenous makeup of the land.  To suggest that the Christian Serbs started off the conflict by invading themselves is false.  It is well known that the Serbs within the land got military support and volunteers from over the border, but it was an internal conflict.

2.  The Bosnian was a 3 way bloody conflict between Muslims, orthodox and catholic Christians.  The author has either forgotten the Croats or ignored their role in the conflict.   Each participant committed acts of gratuitous violence and killings.

3. The author has either ignored or deliberately left out the bloody role of the 'west' in supporting both the catholic and the Muslims, in supplying logistics, arms and know how against the Serbs in Bosnia.
